First Baptist Church of Mathis Texas is a traditional Southern Baptist Church that was founded 121 years ago. The tenets of faith of those who came before us and continue today are based on the existence of a Triune God. God the creator and father, Jesus the Son and Saviour/ Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit, our comforter. These truths were taught in the past, are being taught in the present and will continue to be taught in the future, through age-level appropriate material. A description of these classes and the

In addition, the members of First Baptist Church have a strong desire to share our basic beliefs throughout our community and around the world. This desire is accomplished in several ways, including participating in Operation Christmas Child, a monthly Clothes/Food closet, Vacation Bible School, and various other activities throughout the year.
