First Baptist Church of Mathis Texas is a traditional Southern Baptist Church that was founded 121 years ago. The tenets of faith of those who came before us and continue today are based on the existence of a Triune God. God the creator and father, Jesus the Son and Saviour/ Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit, our comforter. These truths were taught in the past, are being taught in the present and will continue to be taught in the future, through age level appropriate material. In addition, the members of First Baptist Church have a strong desire to share our basic beliefs throughout our community and around the world. This desire is accomplished in several ways, including participating in Operation Christmas Child, a monthly Clothes/Food closet, Vacation Bible School, and various other activities throughout the year.
We strive to be a friendly group of believers and would be delighted to have you join us for any of the activities that are described on this website.
